What is a Bump Gate?

A bump gate is a mechanical attachment kit that allows you to turn your existing gate into a drive-through gate without replacing it.

For this purpose, we’ve created a functional and economical bump gate attachment kit for ranchers, farmers, and property owners that desire to navigate on and off the property with ease.

Whether you frequently experience bad weather, have had an accident that restricts mobility, or simply want to make entering and exiting the property a bit easier without replacing your entire gate that uses electricity, a bump gate is the perfect solution.

BUMP N’ DRIVE FEATURES:

Easy setup.

DIY Installation.

Professional installation isn’t necessary.

Takes a few hours, and you’re all set.

No electricity required.

Our gate opener can open and close gates by pure mechanical and gravitational means.

IN FLORIDA, THE MOST COMMON PITFALLS WHEN USING A BUMP GATE SYSTEM ARE:

  1. Bumping “too hard” and damaging the system or gate.
  2. Paying too much… this system is meant to save you money & time.

FLORIDA BUYER FAQS:

Question: Can livestock open the bump gate?

Answer: Although no gate or cattle guard is 100% secure, our extensive tests show that if livestock were to accidentally disengage the Bump N’ Drive gate latch, the hinge design makes the gate want to stay closed. Even smart livestock do not understand the concept of following through, and tend to move on after an initial nudge or two.

Question: two questions – Does the gate open from both sides or just one. Can it be opened manually?

Answer: Yes the gate swings both ways and latches both ways. It can be opened manually. To make your set up easy do not set your gate post until you watch the installation video included with the kit.

Question: Can metal posts be used as hinge or latch posts?

Answer: Yes. We recommend using square metal posts of at least 5″ or more. If round posts are used, they need to be anchored into cement.

Question: Can one person do the installation?

Answer: Yes, the installation is easy and DIY. It doesn’t require electricity or professional help.

Question: Is the gate relatively easy to install and use?

Answer: Yes very simple.

Here’s a review from one of our customers in Florida:

“we’re in our 70s, we got a bump-and-go gate opener — what a life saver! This gate is really the answer. No batteries going dead, no getting in and out to operate, we just love this gate! Thanks to Mr. Peters for selling this product. This gate is also good for lazy people, too.”
